Recognition of professional qualifications: professional qualifications and experience of a carpenter recognised in Luxembourg

A Croatian national who had trained as a carpenter in Croatia and had several years of professional experience in Croatia and Luxembourg was unable to have his professional qualifications recognised by the competent authority in Luxembourg.

Following SOLVIT's intervention, the Ministry responsible for the recognition of professional qualifications invited the applicant to an interview to compare the Luxembourg and Croatian training. As a result of this review, the Croatian carpenter's vocational training was considered equivalent to the Luxembourg Diplôme d'Aptitude Professionnelle.

The carpenter therefore received a new positive recognition decision.
